For his role in promoting innovations, higher standards and job creation in the palm oil sector, the Artisanal Palm Oil Millers and Out-growers Association-Ghana have awarded the Chief Executive Officer of National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) at a ceremony in Accra.

This was during the launch of the Artisanal Palm Oil App, a digital application to validate the wholesomeness or otherwise of palm oil produced by members of the association in response to demand food safety regulators such as the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) to rid the local palm oil market off harmful substances such as Lipid Crimson (also known as Sudan IV).

In his speech, Mr. Abdul-Wahab emphasized the need not to compromise on the quality, safety and standards of all food products in order to safeguard the health and well-being of the consumer.

The ceremony was also addressed by the Chief Executives Officers of the FDA, Madam Mimi Darko; Tree Crop Development Authority, Mr. William Quittoo; and the Oil Palm Development Authority, Mr. Samuel Avaala respectively.
