Officials from the Access to Information Division (ATI) of the Ministry of Information (MoI) paid a visit to the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), as part of a monitoring and evaluation exercise organised by the Ministry.

The officials, Sampson Hodor and George Frimpong, who are principal officers from the Division, were welcomed to the company by the Senior Manager in charge of Corporate Affairs, Emmanuel J.K Arthur.

According to them, their visit formed part of a monitoring and evaluation exercise designed to assess the performance of RTI staff in relation to their core mandate.

Mr. Arthur responded by indicating that NAFCO has always had a tradition of being proactive with the release of relevant information and as such is well-positioned to play a key role in ensuring that Ghanaians are properly informed about the mandate of the company as well as all aspects of its operations.

He added that NAFCO has welcomed the RTI concept and has made provision for the effective running of the RTI Unit.

The RTI officials expressed their satisfaction with NAFCO’s readiness to partner with the Division and promised to develop mechanisms for training and upgrade of the skills of key stakeholders in the company.
